Then my wife ran off with another man she met online. So I’m practically a “kitchen virgin” so to speak. I HAVE since then used a slow cooker and HAVE found it an EXCELLENT way to make BBQ hotlinks (a personal favorite of mine)! I have successfully slow cooked chicken in “cream of chicken soup” (condensed without adding water)…and pork by using “cream of mushroom soup” (condensed without adding water). And I just bought a HUGE slow cooker cookbook (Fix It And Forget It by Phyllis Good). I appreciate this article since I was wondering if I could sear chicken…slice it…and cook it in the slow cooker covered in “herb and garlic” marinade. After learning its okay to use marinade in the slow cooker…I’m looking forward to trying it! Thanks bunches!

Did you put other liquid in with it or just the bbq sauce?

When I use less the chicken comes out really dry Can someone suggest how much water to use to dilute them or the right mixture.

The chicken will cook in the slow cooker. Some people like to brown the meat before putting in the slow cooler to give it some color.

Just makes it look better. Either way it’s to die for no matter what you do to it! Get a slow cooker with the smart option, so it turns to warm after you cook it for however many hours. That way if you work and are away for 10 hours, cook for 8 hours and automatically switch to warm. Trust me on that. Get a smart crock pot!

Hey, Stacy – Please don’t cook the chicken first – the slow cooker does it – I PROMISE!!!

Also, try a jar (or as much as you want) of Frank’s hot sauce and a package of ranch dressing for a yummy buffalo chicken like you want – no salsa.
Enjoy!
