Just kidding, mainly because I had some doubts after reading the article.

I used to work somewhere that I always took extra time to train and help out my staff, especially women, to try and empower them. I was asked one time by a peer if I was worried that I would train someone to take my place and I explained that I was trying to do exactly that. If I wanted to move up, there needed to be someone to fill my shoes. I have never understood people that go out of their way to push down other people. There is room for everyone to succeed!

I decided that wasn’t going to help me as much as logging my food and exercise. It can be a reward once I have created that habit, but it won’t get me to do the hard work.

Last night, I finished the book The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. It was enlightening and I will be spending my evening and the next few weeks determining my “habit loop” of cue-routine-reward and experiment on how I can tweak it. Overeating has been a lifelong habit and I want to be stronger, which means more exercising. It’s a lifestyle change, and it needs a catalyst. I think I got one this weekend and I’m going to hold onto it.

Wish me luck!

Love that.
